About the First United Methodist Church of Laurel
First UMC is a member of the Baltimore/Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. It is located on Main Street in the historic district of Laurel Maryland. First UMC currently has over 400 members and conducts two traditional worship services on Sunday mornings. The church serves primarily the Laurel area including the city of Laurel, northern Prince Georges County, western Anne Arundel County, south eastern Howard County and eastern Montgomery County.
Purpose Statement
In 2005 First UMC adopted a purpose statement including pupose statements for its primary ministries.
Organization
First UMC and this website are organized around the above church purposes.

Activities
There are always many things happening at First UMC, and we encourage you to check our calendar, news, and Revelations to find out more. You may also contact our Pastor or staff by calling 301-725-3093 for more information. A small selection of our on-going activities includes:
- Two traditional worship services each Sunday morning at 8:30 & 11:00.
- Adult and Youth Church School each Sunday morning at 9:45. Other small groups also meet throughout the week.
- Chancel and Youth Choirs.
- UMW Women's Circles.
- UMM Men's Group.
- UM Youth Fellowship Group.
- Disciple Bible Study.
- Boy Scout Troop 259.
- Prayer Line.
- Many Community Ministries and Mission areas.
We at First UMC are excited about our church! We are blessed with a new spirit as we move forward in faith to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
