Q: It's snowing and/or lots of schools are closed. Are church activities still meeting?
A: The winter weather policy (snow cancellation policy) for First UMC is if Prince George's County schools are closed or released early (that information is available at http://www.pgcps.org/ in the upper right of the page), all church activities are cancelled, including those appearing as opportunities of the week. If the weather is poor Sunday, please call the church office after 7:00am on Sunday and listen to the recording. We will do everything possible to keep the services as normal, but we are mindful of people's safety, and do not want to jeopardize that.
Q: What attire is appropriate for church services?
A: There is no specific attire required for our services. People arrive in everything from suits and jackets to jeans.
Q: The site formatting is broken or I see strange things like “ in the middle of text. Is the site broken?
A: We have designed this site to conform to published standards supported by essentially all modern browsers. However, older browsers may have trouble with some parts of the site. See the discussion of Web Browsers on our tools page for more information. If you are using a recommended browser it is possible that the site is broken. Please let the Communications Team (webmaster@fumcl.org) know and be sure to mention what operating system and browser you are using, what page you were looking at, the time and date, and exactly what seemed wrong.
