Prayer Ministry
The Lord God says, “My house shall be called a house of prayer.”(Isaiah 56:7, Matthew 21:13)
Prayer is an important aspect of Christian life. Prayer is also a vital part of congregational life.
Prayer Stations are always available before, during, and after the service. The stations are located at the altar rail, the kneeling bench at the front left side of the church, and the two upholstered chairs in the back of the church. Intercessory Prayer Team (IPT) members, who wear gold nametags with blue ribbons and praying hands, are always available to pray with you. Ask an IPT member or move to one of the prayer stations and someone will meet you there. Prayer Requests—Joys and Concerns: Write your request on a prayer card before the service and place it in one of the prayer chests in the front of the church. These will be collected and given to the pastor so he can pray through them during the pastoral prayer. Verbal requests will still be invited. Following the pastoral prayer, the written prayer requests will be placed on the altar; later they will be distributed to IPT members for continual prayer over them during the week. Anyone is invited to come to the altar rail during the pastoral prayer, or remain seated, as the Spirit leads.
If you have a prayer need during the week, call the Prayer Line (301-498-3397) or the church office (301-725-3093).
If you feel called to the vital ministry of prayer, join the intercessory prayer team. We need many people to pray at times other than just during the worship service. For more information call Judy Sinkovitz, Ann Marie Miller, or Pastor Dennis.
