Getting Involved in Worship
Of course the first and most important way to get involved is to commit to worship reqularly and follow through. Commit to a group of fellow believers by joining a church.
Members of First UMC can become more involved by joining the Altar Service Guild by calling Eva Mae Black. The Guild is an ongoing and rewarding service that decorates the church for services, prepares communion, and provides many other behind the scenes roles to prepare for weekly services.
If you have a love of music contact Judy Law about participating in the growing music ministries.
If you like to use technology, perhaps you should contact Andy Mueller about joining the multimedia team. The multimedia team provides people at every worship service and special event to operate the sound system and provide audio and video support.
Greeters and Ushers are always needed. Contact Dave Myers to volunteer.
Acolytes are needed as well for every service. Youth are encouraged to contact Michele Yelenik to volunteer.
Finally, Children's Church requires the services of many patient adults at every service who enjoy working with children. Contact Pastor John to join the team. This ministry (as all our children's ministries) requires that you complete the background questionaire and attend a child safety seminar.
